What is pelvic floor therapy and women's health

Pelvic floor physical therapy, also known as women's health or pelvic rehabilitation, is a specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles, ligaments, organs and connective tissues of the abdominal cavity and pelvic floor. The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support the organs within the pelvis, including the bladder, uterus, and rectum. Both men and women have pelvic floor muscles.

Pelvic floor therapy is often prescribed to individuals experiencing various pelvic floor dysfunctions or issues, which can include:
Pelvic pain with or without penetration/sexual intercourse (vaginismus, dyspareunia, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia)
Urinary frequency and urge/stress incontinence
Pelvic organ prolapse
Prenatal care and Postpartum recovery
Bowel dysfunction (constant bloating, gut infections, constipation, fecal incontinence)
